Anyways.I hope this aids some of you out there because I can now employ this method with other two part movies. It makes the black bars appear blacker (to me, at least) which I prefer. I also lowered the "gamma" to "-1" in the option where you can do simple color correction. I did some experimenting with some other movies using the custom sizing option and found cropping a pixel or two around the edges got rid of that "noise" at the edges where the black meets the actual picture.

I hope I remembered the ratio correctly from dvd2avi! I used the "center custom size" option and resized the picture to 720x392, so it came out letter-boxed (well, maybe pseudo, but the aspect ratio looks correct on tv in my novice eyes). (The cropped size from dvd2avi was 696x390 because I got rid of the original black bars and that "flickering" on the right-hand side of the picture). Clipped one pixel from the top and bottom and clipped two pixels from the right and the left while in "full-screen" mode. I have to say the picture looks great! My methods may be a little unorthodox, but I did some clipping in TMPGEnc also. (I may up the rate of the ac3 soundtrack because it looks as though I can spare the room.) The total size of the disc came out to 3.98 GB (4,276,363,264 bytes). I simply converted both soundtrack files to wav (48,000, 16 bit) using dbPowerAMP, then reencoded to ac3 (224kbps) using Soft Encode. I have to add I did not use the resulting mp2 file from either movie. Most importantly I have no sync problems! I just got through burning the disc and watching some of it on my standalone. Then, I used the "merge and cut" option in TMPGEnc's mpeg tools section to combine both mpegs into one mpeg file with a correct header! So, the audio and video times were correct! It's shows up as approximately a 2 hour 46 minute and some seconds file in TMPGEnc's DVD Author.

I encoded in elementary streams, then multiplexed each movie into an mpeg. I also did a little cropping of the film in dvd2avi because I remember someone (on this site) mentioning it was "progressive." I cropped the film because I noticed it appeared as though the right edge of the film would flicker back and forth ever so slightly (that explains what "progressive" is to me) when moving the slider in dvd2avi.
I simply encoded both movies using TMPGEnc 2.513 and used the exact same settings (VBR: 2500 minimum, 3000 average, 6500 max and set my audio to 384kbps) for both movies. However, just realize my method involves REENCODING. Anyways.I decided that I would not stop until I could find a method to combine both movies into one file and finally did it! Only one movie was recognized each and every time.
IfoEdit, renumbering the vobs, didn't work! The one problem I discovered through all of this experimentation is issues with the header information. VobEdit, DVTools, extracting the mpegs using TMPGEnc's DVD Author,
